Shotokan Karate of America is a non-profit organization. All of the instructors at Southwest Chicago Shotokan are volunteers. They volunteer to teach because they love the art, and want to give back to the art that has in turn given them so much. This helps keep our costs low. Also, all funds collected are used to support the club, and Shotokan Karate of America. Money collected is used to pay for operational costs, purchase equipment, sponsor visits from senior members, and more.
There is no charge to try a practice or two, to make sure our practice meets what you are looking for. After that, dojo dues and Shotokan Karate of America dues must be paid to continue to practice with Southwest Chicago Shotokan.
